Movies I saw this summer, part one

  1. Modern Times (rewatch)
  2. Grindhouse: Planet Terror
  3. Hot Fuzz (rewatch)
  4. Wet Hot American Summer (rewatch)
  5. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  6. Chronicle
  7. A Good Old Fashioned Orgy
  8. The Avengers
  9. Away We Go (rewatch)
  10. 21 Jump Street
  11. The Help
  12. Horrible Bosses (rewatch)
  13. The Vow
  14. The Dictator
  15. I Love You, Man
  16. Bridesmaids (rewatch)
  17. The Royal Tenenbaums
  18. The Descendants
  19. The Darjeeling Limited (rewatch)
  20. Orphan
  21. Fantastic Mr. Fox (rewatch)
  22. Beginners (rewatch)
  23. The Beach
  24. Boogie Nights
  25. Run Fatboy Run

25 movies in a month is probably an unhealthy figure… The only thing I want to say about the list is that I’ve been neglecting the classics and watching more of the summer flicks/rewatching some favorites. Next month I’m going to try to watch some more “filmy” films, but I’ll ultimately end up doing whatever I want. Also, surprisingly good movie: The Vow. Give it a chance. It is just really good.

I understand the reasoning behind a limited release. But they’re seriously going to play Moonrise Kingdom in 9 or 10 theaters in New York City alone. Not a single theater in Florida or Alabama is getting it. I would have to travel to Atlanta if I wanted the pleasure of viewing this film.
